Job Description

This role is responsible for assisting in the development and deployment of operational technology at Dicom Transportation Group including Shipping systems, mobility, cube and reweigh, and automation projects. This role works as part of the IT team to ensure the proper maintenance of existing technologies and the development of new technologies. The successful applicant will be involved in other technical projects relating to revenue recovery, mobility, scanning and operational improvement. This role will be based in the GTA but will involve travel throughout the province, with occasional travel to Quebec or the US for project work.

  • Maintenance and repair on operational technologies and other specialized equipment
  • Develop and analyze reports to improve performance
  • Work with IT team on development and deployment of new devices and applications
  • Assist in troubleshooting of technology issues
  • Work with IT team on cube and reweigh related projects
  • Manage various technology projects within IT
  • Test new products/programs on the mobile scanning units. Research new technologies that can enhance and improve scanner capabilities.
  • Install shipping systems at customer locations

Job Requirements


  • Ability to work in team environment

  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Passion for outstanding customer service
  • Strong general IT knowledge.
  • At least 3 years experience with repairs/upgrades on technical equipment
  • Understanding of cube and reweigh process within the courier industry an asset
  • Experience with overhead scanning and cubing technologies an asset
  • Understanding of automation in courier industry an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including weekend work)
  • Ability to travel (Must have valid drivers license) primarily within Ontario, but other travel may be required.
  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering/Electronics/Technology or Computer Science or related experience and technical skills an asset.
  • Previous experience associated with Transportation/Logistics and express movement of goods and mobility equipment an asset
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
  • Ability to work with hand tools in a warehouse environment
  • Experience with all versions of Windows and MS Office
  • Valid G driver’s license 
  • Valid passport
