Dicom Transportation Group is hiring!!

We are looking to hire 1 Warehouse Lead Hands for our terminal in Brampton on our afternoon shift.


Main responsibilities

  • Supervising sorting, proper coding and scanning of all freight.
  • Releasing trailers within prescribed delays and following safety regulations
  • Checking and ensuring proper handling of freight during loading and unloading of skids: ropacks.
  • Maintaining constant communication with individuals responsible for Dicom PM operations, arrival of freight and departure and special runs by Dicom brokers.
  • Maximizing PM operation's productivity and operational quality while minimizing breakage and transportation costs
  • Proceeding to follow-up with managers concerning freight, damages and freight remaining in warehouse.
  • Ability to work alone or with very little supervision. Supervising 7 to 10 employees/broker drivers during an 8 hour shift
  • Off loading trailers, 5 ton and small vans.
  • Meeting strict time lines
  • Experience with LTL
  • Handling brokers’ issues with freight.
  • First disciplinary steps for brokers and dock workers.
  • Ensuring operational safety of all maintenance and equipment.

Secondary responsibilities

  • Managing dock staff concerning the set-up of line, cages and mail.
  • During absence or holidays, taking over for the person responsible and execute certain tasks normally handled by the supervisor or dock employee.
  • Ensuring proper execution of Saturday morning pick-up and delivery (occasional).
  • Checking employee absenteeism and motivating the team.
  • Filling in when and where required.


Main challenge

Maximizing PM operation's productivity and operational quality while minimizing breakage and transportation costs.


Business/Work relations

  • Communicates with dispatcher.
  • Communicates with drivers.
  • Communicates with Dicom managers.
  • Maintains communications with branch and Line Haul managers.


Financial impact

  • Responsible for freight and equipment.
  • Ensure delivery of freight within prescribed delays.
  • Responsible for departures.


Working conditions

  • Constant warehouse work
  • Variable weather conditions
  • Shifts end upon completion of loading
